Preview Homes for Sale in Arcadia

Arcadia began as citrus groves in the early 1900s.  Mid-century, as Phoenix began to develop, this area also suburbanized and became one of the most prominent neighborhoods in the valley, offering large ranch-style homes on oversized irrigated lots.  Today, even the newer, more modern residences take pride in conforming to the character of their sister homes from the 1950s and 60s; offering elegant style and landscaping adorned by orange, grapefruit and lemon trees as a reminder of the area’s past.

The convenient location of Arcadia gives quick access to shopping, dining, arts and entertainment.  The Fashion Square Mall and nearby Biltmore Fashion Park offer an abundance of large retail stores, mid-to-high end specialty stores, and elegant locally-owned boutiques.  The incredible selection of restaurants within the area varies from casual to fine dining.

Convenient arts and entertainment venues include the Shemar Arts Center, a multitude of galleries, the Phoenix Zoo and the Desert Botanical Gardens; and outdoor sports enthusiasts can enjoy a round of golf at several nearby courses, a game at the Papago Park and Baseball Facility, or hiking at Camelback Mountain, North Mountain or Piestewa Peak Parks.

Also in the area you’ll find luxurious resort-and-spas including the quaint, romantic Royal Palms; the exclusive Phoenician, and nearby, the famed Arizona Biltmore, designed by great American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1929.

Although the boundaries of Arcadia often vary depending on who you ask, most agree that its southern border reaches Indian School Road, west extends to 44th Street, and north touches slightly beyond Camelback Road.  To the east, opinions vary from 64th to 68th to Scottsdale Road, but for the sake of this website, I will be liberal and call it Scottsdale Road.

That being said, residential choices in Arcadia include single family residences, as well as condominium and townhome selections ranging from low-priced condos built in 1968, to the luxurious Scottsdale Waterfront high-rise complex offering the pinnacle in urban luxury and amenities.  This gorgeous structure was completed in 2007, and is conveniently located on the short walk between Fashion Square Mall and historic Old Town Scottsdale.  Also located on the NE corner of Arcadia, you’ll find the highly esteemed Optima at Camelview Village, another luxury high-rise community.

Single family homes in the area range from smaller homes in older neighborhoods valued below $200,000, to some of the most exclusive mansions in the valley, valued at $10,000,000 and above.

Currently on the market in Arcadia, multi-family residences range from $89,995 for a 702-sf condominium at the apartment-style Camelback House, to $3,695,000 for a spectacular penthouse at Scottsdale Waterfront Residences.

Single family homes range from $255,000 for a 1,276-sf, 3 bedroom, 1 bath home built in 1954; to $9,450,000 for an expansive 21,013 sf estate with 9 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 3 kitchens, 8-car garage and indoor and outdoor pools.

Because of the vast variety of residences in the area, sales prices in the last 3 months have ranged from $60 to $665 per sf.
